On the last day of our whirlwind Southern Utah/Northern Arizona trip we had huge aspirations of doing another big hike; we had already hiked about 28 miles between our trips to Bryce NP, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, The Wave, and The Subway. We woke up early to try to photograph Zion NPs Court of the Patriarchs but only ended up getting our feet completely drenched as we waited in the middle of the river for an extremely boring and nonexistent sunrise. After drying off and packing up we decided to be lazy and just do a car tour of Zion.
When we got to the end of the road in the valley we noticed that the Temple of Sinawava had a nice river walk that was only a mile or two. We hopped out of the car and started along the walk. Almost to the end of the walk we came across these neat little waterfall. What caught our eye was the way the sun was reflecting off the pool of water above the falls. I have another photo that shows off the beautiful color, but I really liked the shape of the water when I converted it to black and white. THe rest of the image lacked color and the BW really brings out some of the texture and shape in this image. Hope you enjoy.
