I spent the 4th of July weekend on a lake, camping, tubing, and wakeboarding. We all had an absolute blast and I wasnt ready for the weekend to be over when we got back to the Bay Area. I called up my photo friend and we decided to head over to Treasure Island to view the SF Fireworks. We wanted to head over to Marin and shoot the fireworks with the Golden Gate Bridge but we heard the road was closed for construction. Oh well.
We got to Treasure Island early enough to scope out and get a great spot. The people started pouring in after. While we were trying to setup we realized that this may not be the spot we wanted — no where on Treasure Island was a good spot. We had hoped to take photos with the SF Skyline in the background but the fireworks were too far to the west (closer to the Golden Gate Bridge and away from the skyline).
Most of the night was a bust photography wise but I did capture this face shot of some of the SF fireworks.
If anyone is reading this: DO NOT GO TO TREASURE ISLAND FOR THE 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS. ONLY GO IF IT IS NEW YEARS, when they launch the fireworks from the Ferry Building (and you can get the skyline). Also, even when we packed up and started heading back to my car before the fireworks ended, it still took us over an hour to get from the parking lot back to the highway.
