Knowing that the Transit of Venus was a rare event, and already owning a solar filter for the recent solar eclipse, I gathered some of our new interns at work and drove over to a nearby parking structure roof. I setup the camera and started clicking away — 1 picture every minute. Man do I have a heck of a lot of work to do to make this into a timelapse video. I’m not looking forward to it! Willie had joined me as well but left and after seeing some nice clouds starting to roll in, decided to come back. At one point he screamed ”AIRPLANE” and I raced back over to my camear to start clicking away. Willie managed to capture a REALLY sweet shot of the airplane right in the bottom center of the sun. I was just a second too late and captured it just away from the sun.
I had originally planned on only posting this to facebook, but since so many of you called this out as really ”awesome” I decided to post this single frame as well.
