Moon Rising Over Half Dome

Moon Rising Over Half Dome

Every year I go to Yosemite for my birthday. We had hiked up Yosemite Falls all day and got back to the valley extremely exhausted. After grabbing a beer I convinced my friends to wait for the moon to set over the valley so I could get a couple photos. I had hoped the moon would fall over Half Dome and I could get the classic ”Moon Over Half Dome” shot, but alas, the moon was too far east. Instead, I ended with this shot (which I am very pleased with). I shot this from a big open field near Lower Yosemite Falls. I posted a version of this photo a while ago but I decided to re-edit it now that I’m a bit better with Photoshop. I’ll be back to Yosemite in May and I’m hoping for some more great shots!
