Hearst Castle, Indoor Roman Pool

Hearst Castle, Indoor Roman Pool

A couple weeks ago I was in Paso Robles to celebrate my roommates birthday. We gathered a bunch of our friends and rented an amazing hacienda and had a wonderful weekend. It was ”the best birthday ever” according ot her! Before heading back to the Bay Area I took 7 of us over to Hearst Castle and did Tour #1, The Experience Tour. This is the same tour I had done with my parents, and also the same tour where I took my previous, angled, shot of the Indoor Pool (click the link to see that photo).  During that first visit I noticed that someone had to use the bathroom and the tour guide walked this person through a gate in the guard rail and across the tile over to a hidden bathroom.

Coming back this time I knew about the secret bathroom and made sure to make friends with the tour guide. I made a little comment along the lines of ”it would have been nice of the guard rail wasn’t there and I could get a photo from the center of the room.” She looked at me, winked, and said ”you have to go to the bathroom, riiiiiiiiiight?” Sure enough, she opened the gate and I was able to run out and grab this photo of the Indoor Roman Pool.
